Peter’s Weblog

Tonight’s food trial was a Jungle Spa. On the final food trial, where they had to collect stars, as usual, all of them got to eat their favorite food. But the twist was the more stars they collect, the more food they would get. On the first round, Torri had a bug hair wash, John had to wash his face with vomit, where as Lou had to find his stars amongst frogs and spiders. All three of them managed to get 2 stars on the first round, so they were all tied up. On the second round, Torri had to collect stars from a pool filled with baby crocodiles, John went to a steam room filled with baby snakes, and Lou went on a “vomitting” chamber. All of them managed to finish the task, so all of them got to eat a feast on their last night. Torri got a large veggie pizza, Lou got fried chicken with mash potato, and John got a giant burger.

Other than that food trial and revealing the winer, there weren’t much things on the show tonight, mostly flashbacks, and just the impressions of the celebrities of each other. On the reunion, Spencer admitted that he was wrong (I don’t buy it), and Janice said all the immunization made her sick. But in the end, all the eliminated cast met up with the final 3.

On the final minutes, the hosts announced John was eliminated, leaving Torri or Lou as the top 2. Finally, Lou was crowned by America as the King of the Jungle. He even got a leaf crown. Congrats Lou, and also all the cast members that had lasted long enough. I’m not sure if there’ll be another season of this show, but I sure enjoy this one, and will watch if they do make another season.

Tonight was the last episode before tomorrow’s finale. The celebrities reflected on their favorite moments on the camp. They also got to have Jungle Award, where they got to title themselves and other camp-mates that have left. There was another individual food trial tonight, each celebritites must obtain 5 flags on a rope across a river. Sanjaya and John were the 2 fastest persons to finish the challenge, so they got to eat bread salad tonight.

Also tonight, double elimination. The host announced that Torri and Lou were, so Sanjaya, John, and Patti were not. Sanjaya became the first person to leave tonight. He had done really well in the game; he won 9 out of 12 trials. When interviewed, Sanjaya said that he had grown up from jungle boy into a rainforest man. The also asked about his “relationship” with Holly, but he was being very shy about it. The next celebrity to go was Patti. During her stay in the camp, she developed friendships with everyone, especially John. She even planning to do a reunion camping with everyone next year. She was hoping Torri to win to represent the girl.

So on the finale tomorrow: Torri Wilson, Lou Diamond, and John Salley. The winner will also decided by public vote. The phone lines are now open, and we’ll find out who will be the King or Queen of the Jungle. To vote for John, call 1-877-5-keep-05, Lou call 1-877-5-keep-06, or Torri call 1-877-5-keep-11. You can also vote online at nbc.com/im-a-celebrity. Tomorrow on the finale, all the celebrities would meet again. It should be interesting to see, so don’t forget to tune in tomorrow at 8 pm EST.

Long wait almost ends, on July 8, ABC will air the premier of 2nd season of I Survived A Japanese Game Show at 9 pm EST. I’m so excited, I put a reminder on my cell phone 😀 Anyways, TVView.TV has a list of players for the 2nd season, check it out here.

To see the recap of last season, see my Japanese Game Show page, here. Or, if you want to watch the episodes of the first season, there’s someone who uploaded the videos on YouTube. Enjoy 🙂

Because of there was no new episode last night, tonight’s show was a double dose. When the show left off on Monday, the celebrities were playing Hanging Tough for immunity. The game was simple; they had to hold themselves up in a bar, and whoever lasted the longer would win. Patti was the first one down, while Janice sat this one out for health reasons. One by one the players lost their grip and fell down to the mud pool. The last 3 players standing was Sanjaya, Lou, and Torri. Torri, the only woman left, couldn’t hold it anymore leaving Sanjaya and Lou. Sanjaya decided to forfeit giving the winning to Lou; he thought he didn’t need the immunity.

Then Holly arrived; a lot of the members didn’t know who she was at first. Then she mentioned her sister, Heidi, and everyone started “ooh-ing” and some of them had their nightmares (involving Heidi) came back. Only Janice seemed to like her, and she decided to declare Holly as her new BFF in camp. She took her on a tour, and even decided to take on that day’s food trial together against Lou and Daniel.

The trial was Tree Surgery, where a member of the team must take out 5 stars from a tree log under 2 minutes, and whenever the rod touches the opening, the other team would be electrocuted. Also, if the rod touches the same hole 4 times, they should skip that star and move on to the next one. Holly and Lou became the surgeons for their team, and both of them managed to obtained 4 stars after electrocuted Janice and Daniel a couple of times. So the tie breaker, both Lou and Holly must do the first hole (the easiest one) again, and whoever did it the fastest would win. Lou did it in 22 seconds, and Holly did it in 17 minutes. So the girls finally won their first food trial. With this winning, everyone’s fear that Holly would turn up like her sister dissapeared at once.

So the camp welcomed the arrival of its newest member, Holly. She’s more good spirited, and more adaptive towards jungle living. Unlike her sister, she didn’t start any drama. But that didn’t mean that there weren’t any. It was Janice who had been poking on everyone’s nerve in the camp, especially John and Daniel. They didn’t like her for being too lazy and using her illness for excuses to get out of chores. Lou assigned her to do the dishes, which she did resentfully – she spat on one of the plates – and she even asked Sanjaya to help her. Torri also started to dislike Janice for her greediness. She had been taking more portions than everybody, not even thinking that they were all hungry. When their winning hot dogs arrived, Janice didn’t hesitate to help herself. Well, the girls didn’t share with the boys because they didn’t want to get penalized anymore, but Janice didn’t seem sorry about it at all.

Lou realizing this was getting out of hand, tried to talk one-on-one to Janice about everyone else’s feelings. Janice felt ganged up on, and she said she would go on hunger strike. So when their dinner arrived, she refused to eat. But she stole a granola bar from their luxury trial. Patti and Torri won against Daniel and John on Luxury Trial where they had to saw a log and solve math problem. The girls won an exercise tools and 4 granola bars. Janice spotted the prize on the confession chamber, and took one, ate it in the jungle before returning to the camp acting like nothing happened. When Patti found out that there were only 3 granola bars, while Torri saw there were 4 before, they immidiately knew that someone stole it but they didn’t want to point fingers. Janice knew she was suspected and still said that she was innocent, even to the confession camera! She didn’t know that the whole act was caught on the hidden camera.

Anyways, Lou got another privilege for being a camp leader. He got the opportunity to talk to his family, and he also could choose another 2 players to share the privilege. It was a hard decision to make, but in the end, he chose Daniel and Patti. There will be another elimination tomorrow. The phone lines have been opened for public vote, and we’ll see who will get booted out tomorrow.

Before I write about what happened on tonight’s show. I just want to write a little reminder that there will not be a new episode of I’m Celebrity tomorrow (Tue) due to NHL final, but it will return on Wednesday, June 10 at the usual time.

Tonight on I’m Celebrity, the group voted to accept Speidi back if they could survive the challenge (spending a night at Lost Chamber), which they did. The Lost Chamber looked different with the one in food trial. No tanks with slimes on it, the insects/animals on it were minimal, and no snakes or rats. There were only spiders and little bugs, and there was a bed! So it wasn’t bad at all. Regardless, Spencer & Heidi still freaked out, and I doubt they slept well 😆 But they finished the challenge, and they came back to the camp.

Speidi declared that they realized that an evil spirit was to blame for their withdrawal from the game. But now they realized it, they wanted to repent their mistakes. The camp-mates found their behaviour to be much better than before. Even when Janice called Heidi’s voice like a drowning cat, Spencer didn’t jump on her. He just confronted her, and told her that his wife was upset by Janice’s comment. Spencer even gave a great advise and consolation to Patti, regarding the trouble that hit her family. Everyone became happy with the change of Spencer’s behaviour, but it didn’t last long….

Not because Spencer returned to his eratic-self, but because he became a Jesus freak. He felt that he’s freed from the devil inside him, and felt like a new man. Only Stephen and Heidi were on board with his new behaviour. But the rest of the team became uncomfortable with too much bible talk. Daniel didn’t believe that Spencer’s actions were genuine. Heidi told everyone said that she’d always wanted to be a missionary 😯 Other than preaching, Heidi created another drama, and yes she left the camp again. This time was because she felt sick; she had been throwing up and even the whole camp got a little worried. So, she was rushed out of the jungle (Spencer came too, of course) to a clinic, then to a hospital. She got a stomach pain because she didn’t eat enough and drink a little amount of water. She had to be hospitalized for few days, so they were out of the game, again. But this time, it seemed that they left for good.

Today’s food trial: the flash flood tank where the players had to free themselves from chain that entangle thier bodies while the water started to fill in the tank along with some little slimy friends. The quickest person to get out from there would win, and the winning team would get lobsters for dinner. The viewers had chosen Sanjaya and Janice to represent men and women team respectively. First to go was Sanjaya, he finished the task in 3:12 minutes. Next to go was Janice, she got very excited and all about being chosen, but she got freaked out when she saw water snakes, so she forfeit the challenge. So, the guys get to eat great dinner again tonight. However, with Speidi out of the jungle, the producers decided to spice things up. The guys had been winning the food trial, and they had always shared their food with the women, and this actually was against the rule. So the producers decided to punish them by only giving them 1 lobster, instead of 3. Everyone was pissed, except Daniel, who believed in the rule of the game. We didn’t get to see what happened afterwards, but I’m pretty sure the drama will continue on next episode (Wed, June 10 at 8 pm EST).

Anyway, after Sanjaya won the food trial, the guys decided to play a little game, and that pissed Janice off because she felt that the guys were looking down on her. Sanjaya calmed her down, and speaking of Sanjaya, he’s a truly a jungle boy. He is one with the jungle, it’s like his nature. He was friendly with the animals, he weaved bracelets for the cast members, he could even eat almost anything there. If he doesn’t win this show, he’ll still remembered as the true king of the jungle. Meanwhile, Janice filled the drama-draught camp with her attitude. She had annoyed the camp mates by taking stuff without permission. Remember John’s pillow? Now, she rarely did anything, and only laid on her bed. She even asked Sanjaya to give her message. She wasn’t sick, but she looked like it, maybe because she didn’t use any make up. John and Daniel thought that she was very lazy and didn’t do any contribution to the camp.

It’s a new week, so it’s time for Leadership trial again. This time, everyone participated in the trial. They were divided into 2 random teams. First team: Janice, Torri, John, and Sanjaya; second team: Lou, Patti, Daniel, and Stephen. They had to eat some disgusting “food” again. First they had to compete within their own team, then the winner of both teams would face off in the final.

First round: Group 1: Janice forfeit right away when she saw worms on the menu. Next out was Torri, followed by John, in the name of being vegetarian. So only Sanjaya left from the first group, and he got through it. Group 2 got ants, Stephen and Patti forfeit. Lou and Daniel went through. So basically the leader would be a man again. On second round, Sanjaya had to eat bull’s testicles, and he couldn’t take it anymore so he forfeit. So the final was between Lou and Daniel. They had to eat stick bug and cow tongue. Lou forfeit first, and seeing that Lou quit, Daniel thought he would win by default so he quit too. But he was wrong, the hosts declared there was no winner, so there wouldn’t be a new leader. And the camp anonymously agreed to keep Lou as their leader. Trying to be a good leader, Lou tried to resolve the tension between Janice and Baldwins – Salley. So he decided to reassign the chores. Janice was assigned to to dishes, and she agreed.

Also tonight, there was an immunity challenge called Hang Tough. Unlike the first immunity challenge, the winner would only get the immunity for him/herself and not the whole team. Everyone had to play for themselves, but Janice sat this challenge out, she’d be up to public vote for elimination in the end of this week. The game was pretty easy, they just had to hold themselves up by hands on a bar. Whoever lasts the longest would win the immunity. We won’t see who won this challenge until Wed (as I said, there’s no new episode tomorrow). I predict the one of the guys would win again because of their physical strength, but I think Torri might stand a chance against the guys.

While we are on elimination subject, ever since Angela got eliminated, Francis had become so down like she lost half her soul. She became very quiet and kept to herself; she didn’t even joke that much anymore. After doing some thinking, she decided that she needed to leave the game. So now, there were 5 guys and 3 gals in the game. But this number will change soon. On the preview, Holly Montag, Heidi’s sister, will join the show. Interesting, we’ll see how it goes.

When there was no drama, the celebrities talked about the charity that they were playing for. The show itself had set up a donation line, for viewers to give donation to all 11 charities that the celebrities support. To donate, or to see the list of the organizations, click here.

On Thursday, there were 2 season premier of Burn Notice & The Listener, both at 9 pm. So naturally I chose Burn Notice, but thankfully there was another episode of The Listener, so I got to watch the 2nd episode. I just finished watching the the first episode online (at NBC.com). So far, I can say that I like the listener, the concept is somewhat new. The main character, Toby Logan, has a gift of telephatic ability. He used to think that that gift was a curse, but he found out that he could help other people’s lives, by “stalking their thoughts.” So if you’re interested in watching the first 2 episodes, you can do so at NBC.com/the-listener. For Burn Notice, watch at USANetwork.com

Speaking of Burn Notice, there’s a new sweepstakes and this time the grand prize is a trip to Miami plus Burn Notice set tour. To read more about this sweepstakes, click here.

Tonight, as expected, the arrival of Daniel Baldwin was actually pleasantly welcomed. Everybody in the camp liked him because he’s a good team player and he’s a hard worker. As a new member, he volunteered to be on today’s food trial, where 2 men and 2 women would go head to head in order to win mushroom, fruit, and veggies for dinner.

This challenge didn’t involve any animals, but required physical and brain power. In turn, they had to “limbo” through mud swamp get a piece of a block, and take it to the other side. Once they had all the pieces, they had to assemble the pieces into a cube. Despite having physical disadvantage, Torri and Patti did really well; they were neck to neck with John and Daniel, but alas, the guys won again.

Today’s little dose of drama courtesy of Janice. She ticked some people off by using other people’s stuff without permission. John almost blew up again seeing his pillow missing and found it under Janice’s head, but Patti calmed him down. Then the hosts came and let them know that either Angela or Torri may be leaving tonight, but they wouldn’t reveal the name, and let the celebrities have their last supper together. In the end, Angela was voted out. I think the viewers wanted to end her misery.

For next week, the food trial players are decided by viewers. You can vote for one guy and one girl who will go on food trial on Monday. The trial: both players will be put on a glass box, and whoever unlock the chain the fastest and get him/her-self out of the chamber will win. But it’s not that easy, there’ll be flash flood filling in the chamber slowly, and they’ll put in some kind of salamander and fish to accompany them. That’s going to be a tough challenge.

If you want to vote, you can do so online at NBC.com/im-a-celebrity, or text their name to 33088, or simply just click here. I think I’m going to vote the weakest guy and the strongest girl. I kinda want to see the women win because the guys have had winning streak, and now with Angela gone, there are 6 guys and only 4 girls on the camp. It’s really unbalanced.

Now back to our “favorite” subject: Speidi. Other than the uproar when the hosts told them that Spencer & Heidi were begging to come back, Speidi weren’t mentioned at all anymore. But it looked like they did spend a night at the Lost Chamber. It would be interesting to see how they handled sleeping in that chamber 😆 And we won’t find out their decision until Monday’s show.

Today, the remaining 9 players woke up, all smiling, because of Speidi-free. However, there was still a drama between John and Janice. Janice refused to lend John her shampoo – I half agree, as he is bald why did he need shampoo for? And John went balistic, even calling Janice names, and Janice broke down. After cooling down, he realized that he went overboard, so he went to apologize, but was rejected.

The day continued with food trial, and since Janice was sick, she didn’t participate. Today’s challenge was team challenge, the first team to collect 4 stars would win. First off, it was John and Francis, they had to grab a star on a hole full of spiders. John had fear of spiders, and Francis went nuts, but John won. Second, Torri vs. Lou, this time, the hole was full of rats, they both got bitten good, but in the end Lou won. Next, it was Sanjaya vs. Patti, and Patti won, follwed by Stephen vs. Angela on iguana hole, and Stephen won. So, guys had 3 stars, ladies had 1 star only, they continued the game. Last, John vs. Francis again on toad hole, and John won again, so the guys got their 4 stars, and they won the food trial, again, so they got to eat pork tonight. And then Stephen, got bitten by giant ant.

After the challenge, everything went back to normal – and for the first time, peaceful. Even though Janice hadn’t forgiven John, at least they weren’t quarelling. What good reality show let such a peaceful situation happening too long? The stir up the situation by introducing a new member of the team: Daniel Baldwin, Stephen’s brother. But rest assured, his apperance was welcomed, compared to what they’d react when they see Speidi’s return.

Yes, ladies and gentlement, Speidi didn’t leave Costa Rica, and they intended to return to the show. During the interview with the host, Heidi said they made a mistake and realize that it was all for the charity, and Spencer was sorry for his behavior. Ha, like I’m going to buy that, but moving on… When the news was revealed to the members, they were told if Speidi spent a night in the Lost Chamber, they could come back to the show. They had to vote whether or not Speidi would be back or not. We’ll see what they decided on tomorrow’s show.

It’s 2nd day of I’m Celebrity show (4 days for the celebrities), and a lot happened. On Trauma Tank challenge, Janice and Frangela forfeited the fastest, followed by John Salley. John then bugged Patti and Torri into forfeiting. So the last players standing were the boys: Stephen Baldwin and Sanjaya, but in the end Sanjaya won again, so the boys won immunity.

Other things that happened on 2nd day: Angela of Frangela has had a couple fo melt down, Lou got a tent with mattress for being camp leader, and Spencer got baptized by Stephen Baldwin 😯 before calling it quit, again, claiming that they’re too rich and too famous for the show. Well, before getting baptized and quitting, Spencer and Heidi went to food trial, where they had to collect stars on pitch-black Lost Chamber filled with bugs, snakes, slimes, and all other good stuff. Spencer managed to collect 2, while Heidi only collected 1, so the boys got fish for dinner today. Oh, Patti also talked about her husband (oh, it was yesterday, but still worth mentioning).

So back to Speidi, they left the jungle (although I have a strong feeling that they’ll be back), so there were 9. Since Sanjaya won Trauma Tank, the 4 guys were safe, but the remaining 4 gals weren’t. Yes, only 4 women are up for elimination, because the guys could save 1 woman from elimination, and they choose Patti. Who will be eliminated? America will decide, because now, the phone lines to vote is open. Call 1-877-5-keep-xx. Replace “xx” with 01 to vote for Angela, 02 for Francis, 04 for Janice, and 11 for Torri. You can also vote on nbc.com. The result will be announced on Thursday’s show. But that doesn’t mean that there’ll be no show tomorrow, rest assured that there will be more horrifying and disgusting challenges, and of course, drama.

I never watched The Hills, but I have heard that Spencer Pratt is the villain on that show, and just understand why from watching the premier of I’m Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here. Before I started dishing about what happened, just in case you don’t know, let me tell you about the show. It’s a reality shows where 11 celebrities are dumped on the heart of Costa Rican jungle. For 3 weeks, they will play for their choice of charity, of course each time, one of the celebrities will get eliminated. The show will run “live” 4 nights a week (Mon – Thu) for 3 weeks. Previously it was announced that there would be 10 celebrities, including Rod Blagojevich, were listed to be on the show. But due to his alleged corruption, he was not allowed to leave US for the taping of the show, so his wife came and replaced him. So, here’s the list of the celebrities on the show:

  • Heidi & Spencer Pratt
  • Sanjaya Malakar
  • Stephen Baldwin
  • Janice Dickinson
  • John Salley
  • Torrie Wilson
  • Patti Blagojevich
  • Lou Diamond Phillip
  • Francis & Angela of Frangela
  • In the beginning, the celebrities were divided into 2 teams: Red and Yellow. On Red team: Speidi, Janice, John, and Patti. On Yellow: Frangela, Stephen, Torri, Lou, and Sanjaya. They came separately, and only met up at their camp. To no one’s surpise, Spencer & Heidi were so shocked that they decided to leave on the evening of the first day. Spencer complained to NBC’s chairman, that because it’s a celebrity show, they should be treated like a star 😆 But they came back, I think NBC won’t let them go too fast, because they’re Speidi! I even speculate that even they’re voted out by the viewers, they’ll still be in the show.

On the next morning, while everyone was doing their chores, Speidi disappeared – I assumed they crossed the bridge where the show crews were and wanted to leave again, but were persuaded to stay again. So the rest of the players thought they would just split up Speidi’s belongings. So they were surprised when they saw them came back. Spencer seeing their hairspray’s label peeled lost his head and start throwing tantrum. He’s particularly mad at Torri who made fun of them with the hairspray, so to get his revenge, he hid Torri’s bag. Later he apologized, for his behaviour, but in camera confession, he admitted that he wasn’t being sincere at all.

So on their first task, the teams were mixed up; instead of Red and Yellow team, it’s Male vs. Female now. The first challenge was a food trial, where they had to eat various “delicatessen” such as: scorpion, tarantula, tripe, cow intestine shake, rat tail, iguana tail, etc. Even though it only lasted for few seconds, the highlight of the challenge was Sanjaya eating iguana tail in one gulp, no biting, straight swallowing 😆 The men won, so they got to eat chicken and fruits, but they shared the food with the women. As Sanjaya put it, “we are suckers for pretty faces.”

On the next day, the teams had to choose a leader. Lou and Janice was chosen, and they were battling for Camp leader for the week. They had to hold their arms up, and whoever held it the longest, would win. Janice made a deal with Lou, so Lou was declared winner. As the camp leader, he got to eat dinner every night, regardless his team’s performance, and he got to assigned chores to the team members and got pampered – Sanjaya would foot-message him.

So the live part of this premier was when the players went for Trauma Tank challenge. They would lie down on a plank, head side down, into a shallow tank with bugs in it. As I expected, Speidi got to sit-out on this challenge. So 9 celebrities went on the Trauma Tank, and the last person standing will win his/her team immunity from viewer’s vote, but the challenge isn’t over tonight, it’ll continue tomorrow. So stay tuned, tomorrow at NBC at 8 pm EST.
