The Emperor’s New Groove (2000) is one of my favorite Disney animation movies of all time. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a hillarious comedy about a self-centered emperor, Kuzco (David Spade) who had to learn a lesson that universe doesn’t evolve around him the hard way. I love every characters in the movie, Kuzco, Pacha (John Goodman), Kronk (Patrick Warburton), and even the villian, Yzma (Eartha Kitt). The humor is for all ages, from youngster to adults. Trust me, this movie is Llama-funny.
So anyways, so I was channel-hopping on TV, then I saw it on Disney Channel. I thought, “Sweet! Finally something worth watching.” So after a few minutes, I realize that I wasn’t watching the movie, but the tv series. It’s called Emperor’s New School, the adapted version of the movie. The story is about Kuzco returning to school to complete his education before he can claim the throne. All the characters from the movie are on the show. Yzma disguises herself as a principal Amzy ( smart). There are some new characters: teachers, school-mates, and Kuzco’s crush, the Hottie-Hot-Hottie, Malina. All the original cast from the movie are back, except David Spade. His voice is taken over by J.P. Manoux, but I don’t mind the new Kuzco voice, in fact, he’s really funny.
So yeah, now I watch Disney Channel too along with my fellow juniors.
When watching one of the episodes, during the break, I saw that they made Emperor’s New Groove 2! But this time Kronk is the man, so it’s called Kronk’s New Groove. The movie went straight to DVD, but I love it anyways. And actually I kinda like this one better than the first one. Don’t get me wrong, the first one is hilarious. But after watching a lot of Emperor’s New School, I’m very used to watch Kuzco. So, watching Kronk as the lead character is kinda refreshing. 🙂
I just finished watching ABC’s new shows: Wipeout and I Survived a Japanese Game Show, and I love them! They are so funny and crazy (in a good way), and the games really require physical stunts. I’ve been a fan of Japanese culture for a while, and believe it or not, they are way crazier than Americans. They are more willing to dress silly and try crazy things. I even dedicate a page for japanese game show along with weekly recap, check it out here.
From the first time I saw the trailer of Wipeout, I immideately know that it’s the American version of MXC on Spike TV. The show is called Takeshi Palace in Japan. I’ve watched MXC palace few times, and I like it, but sometimes I just don’t get the jokes, because they’re Japanese jokes and slang. And the people who dub it change it to be more American, but it’s not working. So when I see the American version of Takeshi palace w/ real american people and in English, I know I just have to watch it. Their games are similarly silly and crazy, but the rules are quite different. But it’s ok, I still like it. The hosts also give funny jokes about the players, like giving them nicknames and such. The winner of each episode will win $50,000, same price of Fear Factor. This makes me think that this show is similar to fear factor, but it’s not to conquer fear, but more like challenge physical strength and willingness to get dirty.
After wipeout, the next show is “I survived a japanese game show” (I’ll call it jgs for short). In this show, they take 10 Americans to Japan. The contestants have no idea what kind of reality show they’re going into. They have to battle in a crazy and wacky japanese show wearing silly outfits. The winning team gets a pleasant prize (this week they got a helicopter tour of Tokyo) and they are safe from elimination. The losing team will get “punishment,” and they have to choose 2 people to battle in a game to decide who goes home. The last person standing will win $250,000, pretty sweet. This show is outrageously funny. I laughed out so loud, I forget everything that I had been through today (it hasn’t really been a pleasant day).
There’s another japanese show that’s going to be played on FOX called Hole in the Wall. I watched the japanese version on youtube , and I just couldn’t stop laughing. Watch it here:
For more videos of the game, just search “human tetris” on youtube, and you’ll see more version of this game played in many countries. Interested in participating? FOX is actually is trying to find players. Can’t wait to watch this one too. I even dedicate a page for japanese game show, check it out here.
Even though I don’t run around and find new phone cards and update my phone cards collection website, I’m still interested in prepaid/telecom news. So today, I found this interesting phone card, Ketchup Phone Card. I really want one for my collection! I don’t know where I can find it for retail though.
I saw the ad here, and I think it’s quite funny, although I don’t understand a single thing it says (it’s in Spanish)
This really stirs up my excitement to hunt this phone card down. And maybe once I get this phone card, I’ll force myself to update my website 🙂
Few posts ago, I told you about my old monitor that changes color, and that I bought a new LCD. Well today, this new monitor “flashed” different color for few minutes too…. So apparently my graphic card is messed up. I don’t really know about computer, and hopefully with new graphic card this problem is solved. Right now I’m looking for new graphic card. Since my computer is pretty old, it’s kinda hard to find the one that’s compatible.
Hmm, right now, I think I might as well buy a new pc. But, my money is all tight now, and once I register for summer, I have to pay tuition too…
On June 22, summer will be officially on, and I am very much looking for it. However, I have a decision to make for this summer, whether I am going to take summer courses or not. If I do, then I will be as busy as I am now. With 2 part-time jobs and 2 or 3 classes a week, they really drive me to the wall sometimes. And if I don’t enroll this summer, I might pick up a summer job too. However, if I take classes this summer, I’ll be over with my study sooner…
I have 2 more weeks to decide whether or not to enroll for summer class. In the mean time, I’ll think about it when I have time to do so.
And about my phone cards website, it’s been abandonned (NOT for good, I promise). Maybe next week, I can find sometime to update it.
