Peter’s Weblog

Archive for February 2008

Today I have a chance to add some widgets to this blog. After playing and testing for quite some time, I decided to only add the MapKit. I don’t have delicious (however it’s supposed to be spelled), Flickr, SonicSongspot, nor I understand HTML for Meebo. Yes, I know I am a caveman. I do plan to learn them though, but I don’t know if I’m bright enough to actually use it.

Anyway, in the end, I decided to only add MapKit. Even though I don’t really know what sort of places I want to put up there, but it’s colorful, so that’s something different for my blog 😀 Btw, do you think the placement is good, or is it too far down? Should I move it up a bit?

I can’t really think of any place (non-restaurants) right now, hmm, but maybe I’ll put up some of my favorite restaurants on MapKit. The other thing that kept on coming up on my head is my work place :-S

Speaking of work, I finally only have 1 project left. I feel so relieved. I think this is the first time I feel relaxed for few weeks. But, I’m still not feeling well, I’m still coughing like crazy. Two days ago, I was coughing my lungs out, my boss allowed me to go home. It was pretty neat though, not long after I exited my office, the cough stopped, lol.

I found this website during my blog hopping. It’s sort of a test of how fast you can type fast accurately. And here’s my result:

65 words

Speed test

65 WPM, not bad huh? I guess I have to thank my boss because of the workload he gave me, I was able to train my typing skill 😛

Additional note: Hmm, the code that I pasted for the result didn’t quite come out as it should be. There should be a white box with “65 words” on it, and when you click on it, you’ll go to the typing test page. But anyway, test your typing skill and let me know the results 🙂

Before I forget, I would like to thank my sweet (little) niece for introducing me into the web-world, and teaching me to make webpage and my own blog. :-> She even promoted my blog on her own blog!

PS: You’re my favorite niece 😉 and say Hi to your mom.

I managed to do a little update on the website. But mostly I concentrate my time on trying to get people to visit my site. I don’t see the point of having a webpage if nobody visits it. I’ve been blog hopping and visiting other phone card collectors website, introduced myself, and asked if they’d like to link exchange or something. But so far I don’t get a lot of results. But, patience will be worth it. I’m also hoping that people will be regulary visit this blog 🙂 And let me know if they have some suggestions or comments.

Out of the net, I’ve finished one of my project, but I think I still have to proofread it again. I still have 2 more to go for this week, and 1 more for next week. Wish me luck! But I’m not feeling so well. Today I woke up and feel that my throat was so sore… I could hardly talk, thank God today is holiday. Hopefully I get my voice back for tomorrow because I need to work.

There are some blogs out there that have a tag board. I think it’s gonna be cool to have one on mine, so people can just drop by, and leave some comments or tips without having to comment on a post.

But, I don’t think wordpress has that widget, or does it? If you know, let me know 🙂 Or at least, maybe a 3rd party program that can be used here. Does anyone know?

Well, I’m just gonna announce that I’ve just updated collection on my webpage, so check my page out if you have time 🙂

As I’ve said in my other blog, I had a little trouble with geocities. It doesn’t let me copy-paste stuff, and also I can’t open more than 1 page at a time, so moving things from 1 page to another is troublesome. Does anyone have any idea to overcome this problem?

But other than updating the collection, I had time to clean my apartment 😉

I haven’t got much time to do almost anything except job and errands for this week. No scanning new phone cards to show, no playing games at all. I can’t wait until tomorrow, where I can relax. But I can’t be too relaxed because my apartment needs cleaning…

Well, that’s all for now, and hopefully this weekend I have some time and motivation to do some update on my webpage and blogs.

I just finished making the About Me page, and I also made a page for my phone cards collection.

I think my innner writer that I never knew just came out, because in just few minutes I’ve produced 2 pages and 2 posts. But maybe the posts aren’t very organized (I’ll reorganize them next time).

Again, I’ll appreciate any input to improve my new blog, and I’ll see you again! 🙂 I promise the future posts will be more organized with more thoughtfull title and non-ridiculous tags 😉

Hi all, welcome to my blog. My name is Peter, and as my blog title says, I’m a phone cards collector. This is my second blog actually. The first one is dedicated only for phone cards collection update, but lately I’ve been itching to post something more general so I created this blog.

Well, a little bit about myself (or should I post this on my profile or About Me page?) I’m in my 20s, currently employed as a part-time data entry worker. I am not new to internet, I’ve been surfing internet for quite some time, but blogging and making website for my collection are new experience for me. I’m still learning, and I want to make my blog and website get some page rank (that’s my goal, for now). Please give me tips on improving my blog and website, I’ll really appreciate it!

Hmm, I guess this is it for now, and I’ll see you around. I hope you enjoy reading my blog, and I’m looking forward to read your comments.

Side note: I’m not sure what to write for the tags :-s
