4-5. Best Clip (Comedy) & Best Clip (non-Comedy). For these categories, we don’t have an official list of eligible nominees, so it’s up to you and me to choose proposed nominees. If you know of any clip on Hulu that deserves some recognition, just post the name of the clip in the comments section. With a large number of clips on hulu, you can just search your memory banks or click here for comedy and here for non-comedy. By the way, clips of TV shows can also be nominated.

Okay, that’s the newest and last categories on Hulu Award. Next week, we are narrowing down the proposed nominees from all categories. Also, you can also still nominate from last week (and the week before)’s categories. Just go down a couple posts, or you can click on hulu-award tag, or you can vote at TheHuluReview.blogspot.com. Each category is conveniently listed in the upper right corner of the main page. Happy voting/commenting 😀

On tonight’s Amazing Race, the team went to New Delhi, India. Since they got into the same flight, all the leads from previous race became useless. The frat boys, who finished last last week, managed to finish their first task: painting a tuk-tuk (3-wheel minicar). However, due to trouble on doing ironing, they were neck-to-neck in arriving last with Tina and Kenny who had a very hard time on the road because their cab drivers were lost. But Dandrew (the divorcees called the frat boys), arrived 5th, and this meant that Tina and Kenny were the last team to arrive. But fortunately, this week the race wasn’t eliminating anyone so they were safe, but, they’ll receive a speed bump, which would slow them down because they have to a special task that they have to complete.

Another thing, I can’t wait until next Friday, the opening of Madagascar 2. I soo love the first one. I think it was the first successful animation movie, and I’m sure everyone also has a high expectation. I do too, but as always, having high expectation isn’t good because I’ll end up dissapointed for expecting too much. Anyways, here’s the theatrical trailer of Madagascar 2, enjoy!

I like to Move It, Move It!

I watched Monk’s 6th episode of 7th season where Mr. Monk fell in love. Some of you might have watched it last week, but the 7th episode isn’t available yet on usanetwork.com 😦 Anyway, the woman was a main suspect in a homocide of a taxi driver. She had the motive but no alibi at the time of the murder, and all evidence deduced by Mr. Monk pointed to her. But Monk was dead sure that she wasn’t the killer, and everyone (including me) thought that it was because he had a crush on her. Trying to prove her innocence, Mr. Monk almost got charged by obstruction of justice.

After everything was out of hand, the woman admitted that she had killed the cab driver, but Monk couldn’t believe it, so he kept on investigating. In the end, he found out that the woman’s mother was the killer, and she was put in jail. The woman that Monk had crushed on wasn’t happy that her mom was put behind bars so she left Monk. One thing that I noticed on that episode that the woman was riding Metro bus, that’s so LA. I lived in SF before, and the bus there is called Muni. 😆

Anyway, having extra time due to less work and boring classes, I spend my time re-reading Harry Potter (for the xx-th time). Yes, I did and still do read other stuff during classes, which reminds me of the good old times back in junior high. Kids, don’t try this at your school. It’s a bad bad example to follow. 🙄 Anyway, like many people, I’m also pissed that the Half Blood Prince movie’s release is pushed back until next summer to get more money. Greedy Warner Bros. 👿

So anyway, as I read the first book, this thought occur to me: how on earth Muggle-borns, like Hermione, find out how to get to Diagon Alley and Platform 9 3/4? My rationale for this question is they get a special instruction on their Hogwart letters. This works for the train platform, but the Diagon Alley? They have to tap the right brick with their wand, and they don’t have a wand yet! 😯 Maybe the inn-keeper Tom was instructed to help new Muggle born to get into Diagon Alley? If so, then I imagine the special instruction will be like this:

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Special Instructions on how to get to Diagon Alley to buy your school supplies:

  1. Go to London and find Leaky Cauldron, a small pub between a book shop and record shop.
  2. Inside Leaky Cauldron, ask for Tom to get you to Diagon Alley.
  3. Once you get in Diagon Alley, find Gringotts, a snowy white tall building with bronze doors.
  4. Then, exchange your currency into Galleons, Sickels and Knuts.
  5. Now you can shop for your uniform, books, and other equipments.

Special Instructions on how to get to Platform 9 3/4 on King’s Cross:

Walk or run a little straight at the barrier between platforms nine and ten.

Note: It is important not to be nervous while trying to get to the platform, and make it as quick as possible so other people won’t notice.

What do you think? Do you agree with my special instruction theory, or do you have other theory? Did anyone ask JK Rowling about this in Q&A?

By the way, anyone else read the news about Harri Puttar movie from India? It’s sued by Warner Bros because the name is wayyy to similar to you-know-what. 😆

The Emperor’s New Groove (2000) is one of my favorite Disney animation movies of all time. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a hillarious comedy about a self-centered emperor, Kuzco (David Spade) who had to learn a lesson that universe doesn’t evolve around him the hard way. I love every characters in the movie, Kuzco, Pacha (John Goodman), Kronk (Patrick Warburton), and even the villian, Yzma (Eartha Kitt). The humor is for all ages, from youngster to adults. Trust me, this movie is Llama-funny.

So anyways, so I was channel-hopping on TV, then I saw it on Disney Channel. I thought, “Sweet! Finally something worth watching.” So after a few minutes, I realize that I wasn’t watching the movie, but the tv series. It’s called Emperor’s New School, the adapted version of the movie. The story is about Kuzco returning to school to complete his education before he can claim the throne. All the characters from the movie are on the show. Yzma disguises herself as a principal Amzy ( smart). There are some new characters: teachers, school-mates, and Kuzco’s crush, the Hottie-Hot-Hottie, Malina. All the original cast from the movie are back, except David Spade. His voice is taken over by J.P. Manoux, but I don’t mind the new Kuzco voice, in fact, he’s really funny.

So yeah, now I watch Disney Channel too along with my fellow juniors.

When watching one of the episodes, during the break, I saw that they made Emperor’s New Groove 2! But this time Kronk is the man, so it’s called Kronk’s New Groove. The movie went straight to DVD, but I love it anyways. And actually I kinda like this one better than the first one. Don’t get me wrong, the first one is hilarious. But after watching a lot of Emperor’s New School, I’m very used to watch Kuzco. So, watching Kronk as the lead character is kinda refreshing. 🙂

I love Dumb & Dumber movie, but what I’m about to write has nothing to do with the movie. But the title express my frustration that I’m feeling right now.

Well, it started with my (great) idea to make a Flash Game few days ago. I wanted to make a Naruto game (I’m quite a big fan of anime & manga). So, I started to collect some pictures, corp them using Photoshop and such. Then I started to make a simple “prototype” game on Flash, and I got stuck.

I know I can could make Flash. I took a class on that a year ago. I learned Flash 8 and ActionScript 2.0; in that class, I successfully made several games. Even for my final project, the teacher thought my plan was too ambitious, but I nailed it. So, I was pretty confident that I could make my Naruto game idea came true…

When I started to write the code, my mind didn’t go totally blank I could scrap my memory and remember some basic functions. But I got a syntax error. So I fetched my “textbook” (it’s actually a Reader writen by my professor) and look for the function lists. I fixed things, but I still got syntax error!

Frustrated, I opened my old projects, and compare to see what I did wrong. Nothing seemed wrong; I converted the symbol into movie clip, I used the correct function and such, but I still couldn’t figure out and get rid off the error.

So, I decided to give it up. I think all my knowlegde about Flash have leaked out off my brain during the past year. When I looked at my projects, I thought how on earth did I make this? I know that if you don’t use what you learn, you’ll forget and lose it eventually; but it doesn’t stop me from feeling that I’m getting dumber each second….

I wonder if anyone out there have felt the same way…
