My Own Worst Enemy “Finale”

Well, last night’s My Own Worst Enemy will be the last episode of the series that you’ll ever get to see. NBC axed the show without giving it a chance for a full season. 😡 I don’t know about you, but this last episode doesn’t bring closure to me. Yeah sure, Henry and Edward could co-exist without them hating each other. They understand each other better and can “pretend” to be each other more convincingly. However, there are still stories to be told, mysteries to be unrevealed. James, Boss of Janus, still has a lot of secrets that I’m intriqued to know. Sigh, I guess I have to just make up my own fan-fiction to make myself satisfied with this show. Anyways, I don’t know how long NBC will keep its NBC.com/my_own_worst_enemy page, even hulu announced that they can only “post up to 5 trailing episodes of the current season for a limited time.” Now my last hope for this series is that NBC will make the DVD of the only season of this show, and hopefully we can get to see another 1 or 2 episodes that are not aired. Fingers crossed.

Continuing last week’s story, Edward found out that his parents were killed by Janus, so naturally, he became disloyal toward the company he’d served for many years. He agreed to steal Falcon (something to do with missile) and hand it over to KGB as an exchange for the help. He doubled back the security testing that was held by Janus and steal Falcon instead. However, just before the exchange, Henry woke up, and things became messed up because Janus sent Raymond to hunt the traitor down. Raymond managed to kill the KGB agent, but Henry managed to escape unscratched and his identity hidden.
In this episode we learn about Edward’s parents. His father was a CIA agent, and Edward was actually a great kid. Due to seeing his parents died in “accident,” he decided to be a spy to find out who killed his parents. The fact that was given by KGB agent made Edward wanted to betray his country just to find out the truth, but Henry talked him out of it and Edward returned the Falcon. He also managed to saved themselves from being revealed as the traitor who had a deal with KGB.

In Chuck, his on-again girlfriend Jill turned out not to be innocent afterall. I can’t say I’m surprised though, I’ve suspected it actually that she had bigger role than to be Chuck’s ex girlfriend. My favorite moment of this episode: the conversation between Sarah and Chuck on the vent system (which got Jill the wrong idea) 😆
On My Own Worst Enemy, Henry was suspecting if his wife Angie was another spy. Turned out she wasn’t, but she did have something that she’d kept secret from Henry: she met her ex. On the other hand, Edward continued his relationship with Dr. Skinner, and in the end of the episode he found what he’d been looking for: his past, the truth about his parents. We’ll have to wait until next week to find out what it is.
Darn it, I think My Own Worst Enemy’s story is getting better and better but it still got cancelled. NBC executives, are you blind? Do you even watch the show? I bet they “watch” the show by watching the ratings. Lame.

There’s an article on MSN TV about shows that might get a closed curtain this Fall and other new shows that get green light for 2nd season, like Fringe, The Mentalist, Entrourage, True Blood, Burn Notice and Psych (yay!). There are also some shows that are still on question mark, including My Own Worst Enemy, but I really hope that this one will last for at least 1 full season. Today Christian Slater came to Ellen show to promote his show, and he said that he’s just filmed 7th episode.
On the article, the author also lists 10 shows that he thinks might be cancelled: Til Death, The Adventures of Old Christine, Privileged, Lipstic Jungle, Terminator: Sarah Connor, Gary Unmarried, The Unit, The Ex List, Knight Rider, and Pushing Daisies. I don’t watch any of them; I only watch Knight Rider and Terminator once or twice, but I just can’t fit those 2 shows on my schedule to watch it regularly.
Anyways, there’s also a forum there for people to discuss their thougts on which shows to go, and some people are unhappy their favorite shows are about to be cancelled. I feel for them because I was (and still am a little) pissed at ABC for canceling The Mole.
I can’t be a judge on which shows to go, but I know which shows that I want to see next season, and some of them are: Burn Notice, Psych, and Eureka. The three shows are on their mid-season break and will return early next year. For reality shows and game shows, I’d love to see 2nd season of I Survive Japanese Game Show as long as they have fresh new ideas. Wipeout is always refreshing, and its 2nd season is on the making. For Crusoe and My Own Worst Enemy, I’d like to see the full 1 season to decide whether or not I wanna watch the 2nd season. However, I doubt that Crusoe will have 2nd season, afterall, I think it’s a miniseries based on books. Of course, the writers can always write new materials, but if it’s not good, it’s better to leave it as it is.
Update: this website provides the update of shows and their status, whether they’re cancelled, still in production (at least until next season) or likely renewed. According to the lastest update, Chuck, Prison Break, and Ugly Betty have high chances to be renewed.
That’s all that I can think of at the moment, I’ll add more once I think of something else. What do you think? Which shows should stay or go? Comment away 🙂
Henry vs. Edward

So in this 2nd episode we know that the switch between Henry and Edward is broken and the organization cannot fix it, at least for now. So Henry must carry on Edward’s duties and vice versa. It’s a little tough on Henry though doing Edward’s job, he had to interogate someone. During Edward’s job, he had to be accompanied by Raymond, because Henry wasn’t capable in doing Edward’s job. Funny thing though, Henry’s job, especially his domestic duties with his wife, it was Edward who got to do the job, and this made Henry unhappy.
Anyway, in this episode Henry found out that the memory that he had over 19 years was fake. None of his old school friends was real, even his 8th birthday video was a fake. So he went to his college buddy, a doctor, to get a CT Scan of his brain, and he found out that there was a chip implanted on his brain. Terrified of Edward finding out about this, he even made a password (which only Henry knew) with the doctor. But in the end, Edward found out about this because the insurance company called his wife, and the next thing Henry knew, his doctor friend had died. Whether or not Edward killed him, we’ll find out next week.
