Tonight on Crusoe, everything was revealed. Why Jeremiah Blackthrone did what he did to Crusoe, and Crusoe finally found out the truth. Apparently, Jeremiah was Crusoe’s uncle. Crusoe’s father was actually William Blackthrone who was the sole heir of Blackthrone’s fortune. If the secret leaked out, all Blackthrone’s would be Crusoe’s and even if Crusoe died, all the fortune would go to Crusoe’s kids.
Jeremiah came to the island to finish Crusoe off, then went back to England and adopt Crusoe’s kids and just made sure that they didn’t live up to age to claim their rights. Good (and cunning) plan, and meanwhile Jeremiah sent out a group assasins to kill Friday and Crusoe, he and Crusoe’s brother in law went to Crusoe’s treehouse to search for the piece of paper that hold the truth. Frustrated because he couldn’t find it, Jeremiah burnt the treehouse down.
Luckily, rain fell down and there were some remains of the house. Crusoe found his bible and the hidden piece of paper. He tried to traded it with his (and Friday’s) freedom from the island. Jeremiah tricked Crusoe, he still wanted to kill Friday. Crusoe fought for it, and jumped down to the sea with Friday. So they were left in the island again. However, Jeremiah didn’t get his wish too, there was actually a sick man on the ship, and the disease was contageous. The whole ship wouldn’t make it back to England.
So Crusoe and Friday were still on the island, but sooner or later, Olivia (and perhaps with Suzannah and her kids) would come to the island to reunite or rescue Crusoe off the island. I haven’t read the book so I don’t know how the story ends on the novel. However, as for Crusoe the series, this episode is the finale. If you miss tonight’s episode, you can always catch up at nbc.com/crusoe or hulu.com/crusoe.
This week’s episode this the 2nd to last episode. Next week will be Crusoe Finale, where he will finally return to England. As always, before the climax, the story becomes complicated.
Crusoe and Friday heard a banging sound and when they went to check it out, they found an English ship on the sea. The ship was sailing far from the shore though because they thought the crews (on small boat) crashed and drowned when trying to reach the shore. Crusoe and Friday rescued one of the men who survived, and Crusoe knew him. But alas, he wasn’t exactly a good guy. When following Crusoe’s flashbacks and seeing what’s going on in England, everyone was trying to erase Crusoe’ s existance. Also on the Ship: Crusoe’s brother in law. I bet their intention to come to this island was not to rescue Crusoe but to eliminate him.
Anyways, Crusoe was so happy to meet this bloke – his godfather – because he thought he was on the rescue mission to search for him. This fella, Jeremiah Black-something, just like any other people, thought Friday was Crusoe’s slave and didn’t want to believe otherwise. Friday, of course, didn’t like him, and he was right. That guy lied to Crusoe about what happened to Suzannah. Friday reminded Crusoe that he couldn’t put his trust on this bloke, but Crusoe didn’t bother. Crusoe believed that people on the ship would send out a rescue team to search for Jeremiah, and this thought was enough to fool Crusoe.
After that bloke met up with his guys from the main ship, he ordered his crews to kill Friday first 😡 and after that…. to be continued!
Olivia (the pirate girl) wasn’t helping either. She came back to England and rescued Suzannah (who was a wreck) but she wasn’t being very honest either – she had a feeling for Crusoe afterall. But Suzannah found out the ill-actions that her brother had done so far to her and her family.
I think at this point, the whole Crusoe story is coming together – just like the book. Anyways, don’t miss next week’s episode, where all the betrayals would be revealed, and Crusoe will reunite with his wife 🙂 The Crusoe Finale will air on Saturday, January 31 at 8 pm EST on NBC.
Few weeks ago, I wrote a post about the cancelled tv shows where I listed the scheduled air date for shows that are on their season finale. Crusoe only has 1 season with 13 episodes. From what I knew, there was supposed to be a Crusoe tonight and the last 3 episodes will air on 2009. However, I was surprised when I tuned in to NBC and found Beijing Olympics 2008 opening ceremony instead. So I checked with NBC.com, and it appeared that they’ve changed their schedule quite a bit. So here’s the updated schedule for the last 4 episodes of Crusoe:
‘Smoke and Mirrors’ airs Saturday, 1/10 at 8pm ET
‘The Hunting Party’ airs Saturday, 1/17 at 8pm ET
‘The Traveler’ airs Saturday, 1/24 at 8pm ET
‘The Return’ airs Saturday, 1/31 at 8pm ET
Well, I guess it never hurts to re-watch the opening ceremony again. It was spectacular.
On this episode, Crusoe and Friday’s friendship was again put on a test. Crusoe was a little smug believing that he was smarter than Friday, who was uneducated. He pointed out that he had to study algebra. Friday had a “manhood” test too on his tribe, and Crusoe wanted to know what it was because he thought whatever Friday could do at 12 years old, he could do it too.
There were a series of tests on Friday’s tribe: walking on hot coals, jousting, bungeejumping, and duelling with crocodile. Friday failed the last test because he was afraid; he watched the boy before him got attacked and injured by crocodile so he chickened out. He believed that he’d made his father dissapointed in him, not to mention the whole tribe. He was a failed warrior.
Crusoe on the other hand, wanted to prove that he was (slightly) better than Friday by doing all the challenges, except the last one because Friday refused to tell him what it was. He insisted in asking Friday what it was causing Friday to be a little touchy. Friday was angry because Crusoe took the test as a game, and it was very important and serious matter for Friday. When Crusoe found out that Friday failed the test, he encouraged Friday to re-do the test and pass it. Friday told him to forget it.
However, Crusoe fell into his own trap and landed on a tree branch hanging a few feet above a lake with a “giant killer crocodile” waiting to eat him. Because he was injured, Crusoe couldn’t hang on to the branch any longer, and he fell down. Friday had to let go of his fear and duelled the crocodile to save Crusoe. And of course, he passed this time. Here’s a clip from last night’s episode:Vodpod videos no longer available.
Again, if you missed this episode (like me), you can watch it on hulu.com/crusoe or nbc.om/crusoe. Four more episodes until Crusoe returns to England along with Friday. Stay tuned 🙂
Again, there is no Crusoe on TV tonight. On my previous post, I listed the schedule of the last 5 episodes of Cruose including the finale. Well, since I didn’t blog about last week’s episode, then I will write about it tonight. So Crusoe has been trying to help the captain Taylor whose ship had been taken over by the mutineers. The ship was broken though (see episode 4 recap here), but Olivia came and told Crusoe that the ship has been repaired and would sail in 48 hours. Captain Taylor and the prisoners had been moved to a brig on the ship.
Of course Crusoe was elated, because that ship could bring him back home. However, he knew that he would have to help captain Taylor. Crusoe believed that once captain Taylor’s reign was returned he would take him and Friday back to England. So, Crusoe and Friday made a plan to steal the mutineers boat and free the captain before they could leave the island. Olivia convinced Crusoe he needed her help to take the ship.
However, their plan didn’t go smoothly, a traitor in the captain’s crew spoiled their plans. Curious with the rest of the story? Watch the full episode at NBC.com/crusoe. Below is a clip from that episode, enjoy 😀

Just a friendly reminder that Crusoe will not air tonight (Friday) because it has been moved permanently to Saturday at 8 pm EST. So tune in tomorrow night to NBC to watch the latest episode of Crusoe 🙂
Before I get to this week’s Crusoe, I just want to pass on NBC’s little announcement: Crusoe will move to Saturdays 8 pm EST in 2 weeks. Most likely, there won’t be new episode of Crusoe nex week (Friday or Saturday), and I’ve confirmed it from NBC’s schedule. So new episode of Crusoe will air on December 6 at 8 pm EST.
So this week on Crusoe, Friday got poisoned by poisonous honey he ate. He had a major hallucination and attacked Crusoe. Crusoe managed to contained him by locking Friday up on bamboo cage. Crusoe then tried to find an antidote, and with help with Olivia, a pirate girl disguised as a man, who had medicinal knowledge. Together the tried to find the antidote plant (with minor flirting). Once they found the plant, they had to find Friday who escaped from the cage.
While in pain, Friday who tought that Crusoe was his enemy, tried to kill Crusoe. He even managed to put Crusoe on bamboo cage and almost shot him with an arrow. Crusoe tried to remind Friday about their friendship and everything they’d been through. Friday became confused for a moment before attacking Crusoe again. After seeing Crusoe as his father, Friday ran away. Crusoe and Olivia then devised a plan to catch Friday where Crusoe became a bait. The plan worked out well, and Friday was cured.
It was obvious that Olivia had a crush on Crusoe, but Crusoe politely rejected her with Suzanna (his wife) as a shield. We also got to see Crusoe’s good bye to his wife because he had to flee. He remembered that it was 6 years ago, but I thought according to the book, Crusoe had been stranded for 28 years? Anyways, if you miss this episode, watch it here: Vodpod videos no longer available.
If you can’t watch the video above for any reason, you can always go to NBC.com/crusoe to watch it 🙂
