Well, I decided, but haven’t bought one yet. I’ve emailed several people that are selling laptop on craigslist. We’ll see which better deal I can get. I’ve been wanting to buy one for some time, but the “push” that made me do it was some bad news that I got yesterday. Apparently, my best friend bailed on me. He decided not to go on the trip. So, the number of people going shrunk, and….now I’m stuck sharing a room with a fella that I can’t say that I’m fond of. So, I’m going to buy a laptop, so I can spend my time with my laptop when I’m stuck with him in the hotel. What’s more, I can keep blogging, yay! So stay tune to hear about my vacation stories – Don’t worry, he’ll never read this post 😉

Anyway, I watched another sneak peak of Hole in the Wall last night, the show itself will premier tomorrow at 8pm EST. But, deep down I don’t find this show to be as funny as the japanese’s Human Tetris videos on youtube. I don’t know, maybe I watched too much of the videos. I’ll still watch it though. Someone just reminded me about The Amazing Race, I love the show! It’s going to premier on Sept 28 at 8pm EST on CBS, don’t miss it! Speaking of which, I’ll be on my vacation by then. Looks like I’m going to miss the first 2 episodes of The Amazing Race 😐 After coming back from vacation, I have sooooooo many tv shows that I have to catch up on. I don’t think I’ll be able to watch everything I want during my vacation.

Btw, just in case any of you care, I finished re-watching 1st season of Eureka, and starting the 2nd season. Fringe? I missed the first 45 minutes of the pilot, and I hate watching something halfways, so not to watch it at all until I can watch everything from the first minute.

So FOX is going to air their version of Human Tetris this coming September (I’ll keep you posted on the exact date of the season premier). If you don’t know what Human Tetris is, check this video out.

For those of you who cannot wait until FOX air Hole in the Wall, you can catch the Ellen Degeneres’ version of it “Thru the Wall of Take a Fall”:

Human Tetris is game show invented by Japanese (duh) and become a big hit like Takeshi Castle so that many countries make their own version of the game.

On her show, Ellen sometimes play another japanese game show, the “Marshmallow” game. Well, she’s not actually playing the game, it’s some women from the audience who play.

It’s just hilarious, I never knew human face can be that distorter. 😆

The Japanese version:

This marshmallow game also has affected everyone. And because the game is fairly simple and easy to play, people can play it at home too, like this video below:

Even by kids:

After reading abc’s message boards, I worried a little and wondered if abc will make a new season of the show. ABC President, Steve MacPherson said that if the ratings didn’t improve then we probably wouldn’t see another season of the show. Now that season 5 is over, there is no news about this at all. Fans at abc message board are planning to do more than making video to save the mole, they’re going to send MacPherson lemons with a sad face on it 😯 (Paul drew a face on a lemon in one of the episode). One fan offers a suggested letter that makes other lemon references: “Consider this an avid fan of throwing lemons at you if you don’t renew The Mole for another season. You know what they say when life gives you lemons? You make lemonheads and renew another season of The Mole!”

While researching some more, I found this website: http://molecasting.com/show1.html (UPDATE note: The website is no longer available) for The Mole Casting. I’m not sure if it was for the 5th season or for the new one, abc’s official website has no info about this. I guess they take applications while waiting for green light from abc. Or maybe not, I don’t know.

Another info that I’d like to share about other shows how to participate in Wipeout. They are still open casting, so if you’re interested, visit this site: http://www.mysticartpictures.com/wipeout.htm Other than Wipeout, other people have been asking me about how to play in I survived A Japanese Game Show. To be honest, I have no idea. So far, there is no news on the 2nd season, maybe the producers are still thinking about it. I’ll keep you posted if any news comes up about this game. (UPDATE: They’re casting 2nd season of Japanese Game Show, go check my latest post! 🙂 )Lastly, Hole in the Wall: they have finished casting for the first season. Here’s the official link: http://www.fox.com/hitw.htm

I just finished watching ABC’s new shows: Wipeout and I Survived a Japanese Game Show, and I love them! They are so funny and crazy (in a good way), and the games really require physical stunts. I’ve been a fan of Japanese culture for a while, and believe it or not, they are way crazier than Americans. They are more willing to dress silly and try crazy things. I even dedicate a page for japanese game show along with weekly recap, check it out here.

From the first time I saw the trailer of Wipeout, I immideately know that it’s the American version of MXC on Spike TV. The show is called Takeshi Palace in Japan. I’ve watched MXC palace few times, and I like it, but sometimes I just don’t get the jokes, because they’re Japanese jokes and slang. And the people who dub it change it to be more American, but it’s not working. So when I see the American version of Takeshi palace w/ real american people and in English, I know I just have to watch it. Their games are similarly silly and crazy, but the rules are quite different. But it’s ok, I still like it. The hosts also give funny jokes about the players, like giving them nicknames and such. The winner of each episode will win $50,000, same price of Fear Factor. This makes me think that this show is similar to fear factor, but it’s not to conquer fear, but more like challenge physical strength and willingness to get dirty.

After wipeout, the next show is “I survived a japanese game show” (I’ll call it jgs for short). In this show, they take 10 Americans to Japan. The contestants have no idea what kind of reality show they’re going into. They have to battle in a crazy and wacky japanese show wearing silly outfits. The winning team gets a pleasant prize (this week they got a helicopter tour of Tokyo) and they are safe from elimination. The losing team will get “punishment,” and they have to choose 2 people to battle in a game to decide who goes home. The last person standing will win $250,000, pretty sweet. This show is outrageously funny. I laughed out so loud, I forget everything that I had been through today (it hasn’t really been a pleasant day).

There’s another japanese show that’s going to be played on FOX called Hole in the Wall. I watched the japanese version on youtube , and I just couldn’t stop laughing. Watch it here:

For more videos of the game, just search “human tetris” on youtube, and you’ll see more version of this game played in many countries. Interested in participating? FOX is actually is trying to find players. Can’t wait to watch this one too. I even dedicate a page for japanese game show, check it out here.
