After reading abc’s message boards, I worried a little and wondered if abc will make a new season of the show. ABC President, Steve MacPherson said that if the ratings didn’t improve then we probably wouldn’t see another season of the show. Now that season 5 is over, there is no news about this at all. Fans at abc message board are planning to do more than making video to save the mole, they’re going to send MacPherson lemons with a sad face on it 😯 (Paul drew a face on a lemon in one of the episode). One fan offers a suggested letter that makes other lemon references: “Consider this an avid fan of throwing lemons at you if you don’t renew The Mole for another season. You know what they say when life gives you lemons? You make lemonheads and renew another season of The Mole!”

While researching some more, I found this website: http://molecasting.com/show1.html (UPDATE note: The website is no longer available) for The Mole Casting. I’m not sure if it was for the 5th season or for the new one, abc’s official website has no info about this. I guess they take applications while waiting for green light from abc. Or maybe not, I don’t know.

Another info that I’d like to share about other shows how to participate in Wipeout. They are still open casting, so if you’re interested, visit this site: http://www.mysticartpictures.com/wipeout.htm Other than Wipeout, other people have been asking me about how to play in I survived A Japanese Game Show. To be honest, I have no idea. So far, there is no news on the 2nd season, maybe the producers are still thinking about it. I’ll keep you posted if any news comes up about this game. (UPDATE: They’re casting 2nd season of Japanese Game Show, go check my latest post! 🙂 )Lastly, Hole in the Wall: they have finished casting for the first season. Here’s the official link: http://www.fox.com/hitw.htm

In this finale, the players competed individually, no more green monkey or yellow penguin. And every challenge was an elimination challenge, the player with the lowest score or longest time would have to say sayonara to $250,000.

So in the first challenge, the final four was set to free out of Toho Studio. For the first time, they had a game outdoor. The had to complete 5 tasks: getting someone to draw moustache on their face, getting a local to kiss them and getting the picture taken, getting someone to dress as liberty statue, getting a business card, and finally finding 3 people to do the wave. With their limited Japanese, they seemed to have trouble asking people for a favor (the locals thought they were selling something).

Donnell got kissed by a grandma, and Justin got kissed by a dude. Donnell was so desperate when asking people. In the end, Meagan was the winner of the first challenge, her good looks made the challenges easier for her. Belinda finished last, so she was the first one to go bye-bye.

After completing the first challenge, the winners: Justin, Donnell, and Meaghan got a treat. Their loved ones came to the studio and they got to spend time with them (for few minutes) before the next challenge started. On the second challenge, they had to wear sumo sponge suit, and they had to transfer as much water as possible with that suit while getting through an obstacle course. This challenge requires a good amount of strength, so Meaghan was in disadvantage. And, the last girl standing lost, good job Meaghan. So the winner was between Donnell and Justin.

On the final showdown between Donnell and Justin, they had all the old challenges combined: spinning chair, tricycle, egg popping, sticky wall, mochi, and the fake doors. If Meaghan had made it to this round, I seriously doubt she would win, the sticky wall part really required strong arms and it wouldn’t be fair for her to compete against Justin or Donnell. Justin and Donnell were almost always neck to neck all the time, but Justin got a little head start, and in the end he won. So Congratulations Justin! 🙂 But don’t spend all that money to buy your girlfiend jewelry (not that it’s wrong) but at least save some of them for future. I feel bad for Donnell, he’s a good competitior and he had a good heart to accept his defeat. Congrats to you both.

I highly doubt they will make 2nd season because it won’t be as huge as this one (but I’m secretly hoping otherwise). But, I would love to watch another show like this in the future. Heh, who am I kidding? I’ll be on it! Until then, sayonara! 8)

Tonight on Wipeout: Wipey Award! The best of wipeout moments over the past few weeks, with categories like: Best Dance, Best Romance, and many more. Even though it wasn’t really a new episode, but it was really funny. It’s the funniest wipeout moments. Miss it? Watch it online at abc.com

Right now, it’s Japanese Game Show. In this finale, the players competed individually, no more green monkey or yellow penguin. And every challenge was an elimination challenge, the player with the lowest score or longest time would have to say sayonara to $250,000. Read to find out who won Japanese Game Show Finale. 🙂

*Update: ABC is casting for 2nd season of I Survived Japanese Game Show & Wipeout, click here to find out how.

Anyway, for those of you who wondered what does Majide really means, you’re not alone. Someone asked that on Yahoo! Answers, and out of many answers, I quoted these 2, since I think they are the best answers:

はい (read: ha i) means yes.

majide is soured from (真面目に)  マジで (read: ma ji de)、マジ (read:ma ji)  means true, real.

本当に=ほんとうに (read: hon to ni?) means “is it really?” so you can replace majide with hotoni. majide= hotoni.
hai majide=”Yes, really””Is it true?” or “no kidding”.

The other one is:

The Japanese translation of Majide (マジで?) is “seriously?!” in an inquisitive, yet exclamatory sense, meaning roughly “you have to be crazy.” The Japanese characters for the on-screen logo shown on the wall in the program read “Honki de” (本気で) (meaning simply “Seriously” or “Wholeheartedly”).

OMG, this week’s Japanese Game Show is sooooooooo funny! They had to cross dress. Meaghan wearing a tux was okay. But Donnell (I’ve spelled his name wrong all along) and Andrew had to wear a gown! And in the middle of the game, Andrew’s gown fell down showing his hairy chest. The game was pretty simple, but the spinning chair was so fast. Anyways, Meaghan screwed up by putting the heart lock on her back (maybe she was too dizzy), and after that she took the key and dropped it causing Green Monkey team to lose a good amount of time. BUT, in the end Green Monkey team won! I’m so happy for them. 😛

This week’s reward is better than previous ones. Meaghan and Donnell got to stay in the most luxurious and modern hotel (priced at $12k a night). They got to ride in a limo, get a room w/ private chef and waiters, private swimming pool and get to order whatever they want – gourmet of course. And Meaghan ordered Pizza (yes, you read it right) and got it! 🙂 I don’t blame Meaghan for ordering a Pizza. As much as I like eating any type of cuisine, eating the same style of food for weeks will bore anyone. I so want to trade place with any of them.

On the other hand, Yellow Penguin finally lost after winning 4x in a row. They had to spend a night at a capsule hotel, where everything is tiny. Bento box was small and cold. And the capsule room was tight and confined, and it’s more like corpse’s chamber at morgues. They were also given nurse-like pjs.

Of course, Justin and Andrew were pretty smart. They made their own decision, because they didn’t want to face each other. So against Belinda’s will, Andrew volunteered himself and dragged Belinda down to elimination game. The game was changing clothes, and there was a special guest who played the game with them. They were told that that guy was the champion of fast clothes changing. But he actually got a twin 😆 so he always won. Belinda had better experince in changing clothes, so she won. Time for Andrew to go.

So next week 2 people on each team, one guy and one girl. Apparently next week is the final episode, so out of those 4 people one will win $250,000.

Today’s wipeout players didn’t do so good on the wipeout zone. 3 of them took more than 16 minutes to complete, compared to the average 8 minutes from the previous weeks’ players. Well, this week, the wipeout zone was made more challenging. The pool was filled with foams, so when the players fell down, they had to swim through the foam pool.

On other news, the winners of the Burn Notice book, The Fix, had been announced on Tod Goldberg’s blog. No, I wasn’t one of the lucky winners 😥 I guess I have to buy the book by myself. To see the winners of the contest, visit Tod’s blog here.

Betrayal

Posted on: July 22, 2008

As I thought, it’s not possible for Green Monkey team to compete with only 2 people. Yellow Penguin team had to let go one of their member to Green Monkey. Donell automatically wanted Justin because they were buddies. Justin wanted to move over too, but he knew that Yellow Penguin team was stronger so it was better to stick to the winning team. In the end, Cathy volunteered to move to Green Monkey team because she knew she had been performing badly in the past few weeks.

Tonight’s japanese game show was so funny! Poor Cathy and Belinda, they’re suspended in the air with their teammates throwing balls at them, and their opponents pulling them from side to side.

Belinda had the upper hand, her weight played important role because Meaghan wasn’t strong enough to pull her around. Also, as Justin pointed out, Donell and Meaghan swing Belinda from left to right in almost perfect rhythm. It’s so predictable that Andrew and Justin didn’t have too much of a hard time aiming her. Moreover, Belinda was smart, she helped her team by catching the balls that missed and stick it to herself.

Since Yellow Penguin team was first, Justin and Andrew had the advantage of making a strategy by watching Green Monkey. They only pulled Cathy quickly after Donell threw the ball so Green Monkey team didn’t get as many balls as they could. Meaghan didn’t do a good job either because she was having a hard time aiming. 😦 Boohoo, Green Monkey team lost by huge number: 24 to 7. They had to learn how to make Mochi and then they had to make 100 of them. But they got to vent their frustrations by hammering the mochi rice. On the other side, Yellow Penguin team got to go to an ancient shrine to received blessing and learn archery.

Donell and Cathy wanted Meaghan to go to elimination round because she did the worst, but Meaghan tried to work around it. But both Donell and Cathy didn’t want to go to elimination round. Cathy thought Donell did a bad job because as a football player he should’ve performed much better, and Cathy defended herself that there was nothing that she could do if there were no balls around her to catch. According to the game rules, if Green Monkey team couldn’t decide who to go to elimination round, Yellow Penguin team got to choose the 2 people. Donell was confident that he’s not going down because he was sure that he Andrew and Justin were in ‘silent’ alliance. Meanwhile Meaghan lobbied Andrew of Yellow Penguin to put Donell into elimination round, and Andrew agreed.

Since Green Monkey was undecided (like Meaghan wanted), Yellow Penguin choose Donell and Cathy. Poor Donell, he believed so much in Justin and Andrew, but he was betrayed because afterall he’s the biggest competition. Once Donell’s gone, no more guys in Green Monkey team, and it’s good news for Yellow Penguin. Andrew clearly said he didn’t care Meaghan or Cathy as long as Donell was on chopping block. I couldn’t help but think that it’s Donell’s karma. He betrayed Olga, who trusted him, eliminated few weeks ago (read here for story). Now he was betrayed by Justin and Andrew, who he thought would save his ass. I’m not a believer in Karma, but this is mind blowingly obvious.

The elimination game was simple but still funny. The players had to find 3 solid doors out of 7 to bump into. Poor Cathy, the first 3 doors she chose was a fake one so she wasted a lot of time getting smacked by crazy gorilla and panda. Pissed Donnell was so focused he finished the game very quickly. So it’s time for Cathy to say Sayonara.

Well, next week won’t be a good week for Green Monkey team. I don’t know if Donell would find out that Meaghan betrayed him too, but he’d be pissed at Justin and Andrew for sure. Anyways, on the preview of next week’s episode, looks like a funny game is in store. Can’t wait to watch it. 🙂

Tonight’s wipeout is great; more balls than ever before. Also tonight’s wipeout zone was made tougher because the spinner is wrapped in plastic allowing only 2 sides to jump into and the players had to crawl to the other end and use the other opening to exit. In today’s wipeout, the only girl left is the runner up. She did a wonderful job, and only lost for less than 1 minute.

This week on Burn Notice, Michael has so many things on his plate: job from Carla, side job from Sam (for a cop), his mom demanding new coffee maker and counseling. After watching this episode, I kinda see the similarities between Fiona and Carla. They both like doing everything with force and they know what they want, how its done, and when they want it done. They both are lethal combination between brain and beauty. Fortunately, Fiona is on Michael’s side and her underground connection always helps Michael. On the other hand, Carla is Michael’s boss for now, and she keeps on “reminding” Michael about that by dropping stuff to his mom’s house.

From this episode, it’s revealed that Carla is a spy (or ex-spy) and she worked in Middle East. Right now, she has a much better job, ordering Michael to do all the dirty work, and she has a handful of money and man resources to do so. But I’m pretty sure she’s still working for someone – the mistery person who’s the brain of Michael’s burn notice. Also, I think Carla might be Michael’s new love interest (since Fiona called it quit). What do you guys think?

Put that aside, I have another news to share 🙂 Since I wrote my japanese game show post, a lot of people have been visiting my blog and reading it. So, I decide to write a page dedicated for it. Check it out the page on the right side, or click here.

Poor Mary

Posted on: July 15, 2008

In today’s Japanese Game Show, the players have to dress like babies: diapers, hat, and pacifier! I laughed so hard, but I feel bad for them at the same time. They look hilariously silly and hideous. Anyways, this week’s challenge is similar to Wipeout’s Dizzy Dummy. Basically some players are spun around, and after that they have to walk in a series of obstacles.

Green Monkey team lost again 😦 they’ll be down to 2 people next week. Mary did a good job, but based on Meaghan’s immunity pact, Donell and Mary should go to elimination. Donell used up this dilemma to make Mary break the pact. But Mary couldn’t make herself to bail, so they had to face off in chicken-egg game. They had to oil themselves and cover themselves in feather before breaking eggs with their butt. Mary managed to pop 10 eggs, while Donell got 11 before time ends, so Donell won. I kinda wanted Mary to win because she did the best, and Donell gave the worst performance on the main challenge. I don’t know how Green Monkey will compete next week with only Meaghan and Donell 😐

The Yellow Penguin team got a treat to go to a Japanese village to watch soba (japanese style noodle) making, and they get to eat the home-made soba. Cathy, who afraid of foreign stuff, hesitated to eat, as usual. On the other hand, Green Monkey had to work de-shelling clams. Poor guys.

This week on wipeout: no one seemed to be able to pass the last obstacle on the first round. Everyone bounced off that wall. I think the wall have technical issue. I love this week’s 3rd round, the dreadmill. The contestants have to use flipper flop while running in accelerating dreadmill. In the meanwhile, there are some dolphins, crabs, lobsters, and floating balloons that hinder their way. They have to stay as long as they can in the dreadmill before they got booted into a foam pool.
