Archive for the ‘Eureka’ Category

Last month I wrote a post listing TV schedule of winter ’09 for some major networks – ABC, NBC, CW, FOX, and CBS. If you are curious when your favorite TV shows are coming back, and when the new shows start airing, click here for the complete list. I’m making my schedule to watch some old favorites: Reaper, Chuck, Amazing Race, 24, Supernatural, but I also try to squeeze in some new shows.

But I’m not forgetting my other fave shows on other channels: Monk, Psych, Burn Notice (all in USA Network), Eureka, and Chase (on Scifi Channel). Monk will return on Friday, January 9 at its usual time 9 pm EST, followed by all new Psych at 10 pm EST. Burn Notice will return on Thursday, January 22 at 10 pm EST. For Chase and Eureka, I haven’t found any info on when the new episodes will be aired. I’ll keep you posted on this. If you have other shows you would like to find out when it’s coming back, just leave a comment, and I”ll try to find out the info for you.

Update: Eureka will return to SciFi channel on Summer 2009. Yes, I know I’m dissapointed too that I have to wait 5 more months (8 months total!) for the show to see Chief Carter again, but hey at least it’s a confirmation that the show isn’t cancelled šŸ™‚ So…there will be a new face on GD, click here to watch the sneak peek preview of the 2nd half of the 3rd season of Eureka. News source: SliceofScifi.com

Speaking of Burn Notice, I still haven’t got an official answer from USA Network about the Saab winner, nor I could find any information on the USA Network website. The burnnoticeops.com website is also down. I believe the winner has been contacted but USA Network hasn’t released the list of winners. I’m not sure, if you have any information regarding this sweepstakes, please let me know so I can forward it to others who are as anxious as I am.

Other shows starting this week: Superstars of Dance, a new dancing show on NBC. I’m not really a big fan of Dancing w/ the Stars or So You Think You Can Dance, but I think this new show will be interesting because they will be showing dance styles from around the world, not the usual samba, cha-cha, etc. If you’re interested in watching it, tune in to NBC this Sunday at 9 pm EST.

Update on midseason tv shows: Monk will return on January 9, 2009 at its usual time 9 pm EST, followed by Psych at 10 pm EST. For Burn Notice, USA network hasn’t released an official date for the 10th episode of 2nd season. I’ll keep an eye on it, but there’s good news: Burn Notice lands its 3rd season! No news on when Eureka will be back on Sci-Fi channel too. I’ll update this post as soon as I find out. *Update: Eureka won’t return this winter, but on Summer, read my post here for more info.

If you have any request on when your favorite shows will be back next winter, just leave me a comment and I’ll try my best to find the answer for you šŸ™‚

That’s a long list of new episodes/new shows to watch. For more info on the new series, visit the network’s official website. So, which shows are you going to tune in?

There’s an article on MSN TV about shows that might get a closed curtain this FallĀ and other new shows that get green light for 2nd season, like Fringe, The Mentalist, Entrourage, True Blood, Burn Notice and Psych (yay!). There are also some shows that are still on question mark, including My Own Worst Enemy, but I really hope that this one will last for at least 1 full season. Today Christian Slater came to Ellen show to promote his show, and he said that he’s just filmed 7th episode.

On the article, the author also lists 10 shows that he thinks might be cancelled: Til Death, The Adventures of Old Christine, Privileged, Lipstic Jungle, Terminator: Sarah Connor, Gary Unmarried, The Unit, The Ex List, Knight Rider, and Pushing Daisies. I don’t watch any of them; I only watch Knight Rider and Terminator once or twice, but I just can’t fit those 2 shows on my schedule to watch it regularly.Ā

Anyways, there’s also a forum there for people to discuss their thougts on which shows to go, and some people are unhappyĀ their favorite shows areĀ about to be cancelled. I feel for them because I wasĀ (and still am a little)Ā pissed at ABC for canceling The Mole.Ā

I can’t be a judge on which shows to go, but I know which shows that I want to see next season, and some of them are: Burn Notice, Psych, and Eureka. The three shows are on their mid-season break and will return early next year. For reality shows and game shows, I’d love to see 2nd season of I Survive Japanese Game Show as long as they have fresh new ideas. Wipeout is always refreshing, and its 2nd season is on the making. For Crusoe and My Own Worst Enemy, I’d like to see the full 1 season to decide whether or not I wanna watchĀ the 2nd season. However, I doubt that Crusoe will have 2nd season, afterall, I think it’s a miniseries based on books. Of course, the writers can always write new materials, but if it’s not good, it’s better to leave it as it is.

Update: this website provides the update of shows and their status, whether they’re cancelled, still in production (at least until next season) or likely renewed. According to the lastest update, Chuck, Prison Break, and Ugly Betty have high chances to be renewed.

That’s all that I can think of at the moment, I’ll add more once I think of something else. What do you think? Which shows should stay or go? Comment away šŸ™‚

Well, I decided, but haven’t bought one yet. I’ve emailed several people that are selling laptop on craigslist. We’ll see which better deal I can get. I’ve been wanting to buy one for some time, but the “push” that made me do it was some bad news that I got yesterday. Apparently, my best friend bailed on me. He decided not to go on the trip. So, the number of people going shrunk, and….now I’m stuck sharing a room with a fella that I can’t say that I’m fond of. So, I’m going to buy a laptop, so I can spend my time with my laptop when I’m stuck with him in the hotel.Ā What’s more, I can keep blogging, yay! So stay tune to hear about my vacation storiesĀ – Don’t worry, he’ll neverĀ read this post šŸ˜‰

Anyway, I watched another sneak peak of Hole in the Wall last night, the show itself will premier tomorrow at 8pm EST. But, deep down I don’t find this show to be as funny as the japanese’s Human Tetris videos on youtube. I don’t know, maybe I watched too much of the videos. I’ll still watch it though. Someone just reminded me about The Amazing Race, I love the show! It’s going to premier on Sept 28 at 8pm EST on CBS, don’t miss it! Speaking of which, I’ll be on my vacation by then. Looks like I’m going to miss the first 2 episodes of The Amazing Race šŸ˜ After coming back from vacation, I have sooooooo many tv shows that I have to catch up on. I don’t think I’ll be able to watch everything I want during my vacation.

Btw, just in case any of you care, I finished re-watching 1st season of Eureka, and starting the 2nd season. Fringe? I missed the first 45 minutes of the pilot, and I hate watching something halfways, so not to watch it at all until I can watch everything from the first minute.

So I started watching Chuck onlineĀ (didn’t watch it when it was on air), and I’m hooked right away. For those of you who didn’t watch it, Chuck is a spy-themed tv show, like Burn Notice. But the main character, Chuck, is not uber cool, multi-language speaker, ass-kicking character. Chuck in fact is a leader of the Nerd Herd (think Geek Squad), who accidentally got involved into intellegent world because his college friend, Bryce -whoĀ Chuck thought was an accountant, stole a very very secret file containing secret information from several different intel agencies. So he was hunt down by a hot CIA agent, Sarah, and a guy from NSA (can’t remember his name šŸ˜† ).Ā BecauseĀ Chuck somehow memorized the content,Ā he’s now forced to workĀ for them.Ā Like Burn Notice, thisĀ tv show isĀ also full of action, at least from what I see from the first few episodes. Ā

Speaking of Burn Notice, there hasn’t been any new episodes these past few weeks because of US Open, and it includes this week. So for those of you who are wondering, the new episode will air on Sept 11 at usual time. Write it down on your calendar so you don’t miss it šŸ˜› After that, there will be another new episode on the following week (Sept 18), but after that USA network is going to put it on a break until winter. USA network will air the remaining 7 episodes of the 2nd season early next year.

Since I don’t have too many things to watch now, I’m re-watching season 1 of Eureka. If you like sci-fi shows, you must’ve watched it too. But even if you’re not really into it, I really recommend watching it. The story in each episode is always refreshing. More new seasons of old series or new series are coming soon. Prison break, knight rider (I’ll give it a shot), Crusoe, and my own worst enemy are among those I want to watch. Between work, school, and other tv shows that I want to watch, 24 hours a day isn’t enough! Goog thing that I don’t have HBO or ShowTime, otherwise I don’t know how I can keep up with things šŸ˜†
