The Emperor’s New Groove (2000) is one of my favorite Disney animation movies of all time. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a hillarious comedy about a self-centered emperor, Kuzco (David Spade) who had to learn a lesson that universe doesn’t evolve around him the hard way. I love every characters in the movie, Kuzco, Pacha (John Goodman), Kronk (Patrick Warburton), and even the villian, Yzma (Eartha Kitt). The humor is for all ages, from youngster to adults. Trust me, this movie is Llama-funny.
So anyways, so I was channel-hopping on TV, then I saw it on Disney Channel. I thought, “Sweet! Finally something worth watching.” So after a few minutes, I realize that I wasn’t watching the movie, but the tv series. It’s called Emperor’s New School, the adapted version of the movie. The story is about Kuzco returning to school to complete his education before he can claim the throne. All the characters from the movie are on the show. Yzma disguises herself as a principal Amzy ( smart). There are some new characters: teachers, school-mates, and Kuzco’s crush, the Hottie-Hot-Hottie, Malina. All the original cast from the movie are back, except David Spade. His voice is taken over by J.P. Manoux, but I don’t mind the new Kuzco voice, in fact, he’s really funny.
So yeah, now I watch Disney Channel too along with my fellow juniors.
When watching one of the episodes, during the break, I saw that they made Emperor’s New Groove 2! But this time Kronk is the man, so it’s called Kronk’s New Groove. The movie went straight to DVD, but I love it anyways. And actually I kinda like this one better than the first one. Don’t get me wrong, the first one is hilarious. But after watching a lot of Emperor’s New School, I’m very used to watch Kuzco. So, watching Kronk as the lead character is kinda refreshing.
